Wyetech Labs has begun development on a 0.5 Watt RMS headphone amplifier using class "A1" single ended circuitry with wideband output transformers. The multiple output winding configuration will allow selection for 32 through 600 Ohm headphones. The output transformer being a step-down will also lower the noise floor over previous designs that have used cathode follower tube outputs.
